We are VERY excited to announce that The Psalms Project will be returning to the studio in the summer of 2019 to record Volume 4! Once again, writing these songs has proven to be such a deep and rewarding spiritual journey, wrestling with God’s word and internalizing it deeply until it breaks forth in song. In these past two years, I’ve imbibed oceans of joy and security through the psalmist’s (successful) war to maintain his confidence in Psalm 31, the blessedness of perfect and permanent forgiveness in Psalm 32, the raucous celebration of God’s perfect attributes in Psalm 33, the sweetness of life in God in Psalm 34, the triumph over the sting of false accusations in Psalm 35, the overcoming love of God in Psalm 36, the wisdom of unwavering faith in Psalm 37, and the hope that carries to victory through the awful suffering of Psalm 38. Once again, I can confidently say that these Psalms have changed me.
With some of the songs being slightly longer in this volume, we are currently planning for the next volume to contain Psalms 31-38 only, though we may be able to fit one or two more depending on how production goes. We are also experimenting with the idea of putting out singles until the entire volume is complete. Even as the music landscape continues to shift toward streaming, singles, and playlists and away from albums, we’re looking forward to adding another volume of Psalms to this life project. Look for singles from Volume 4 this fall and for the completion of Volume 4 by the end of 2019.
The LORD bless and keep you all in His lavish grace,
